Cornwall Sports Partnership is inviting nominations for the Cornwall Sports Awards 2008 which will be staged at the Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives on Friday 7th November .

This prestigious event, staged for the first time in 2006, has been designed to recognise and honour the contributions made by dedicated sports Coaches, Officials, Clubs and Volunteers

The four categories incorporate 13 separate Awards which include Club of the Year, Coach of the Year and Lifetime Services to Sport. The awards will be presented by well known local sports celebrities and representatives from Sport England.

This year’s ceremony has been designed to build on the successes of last few years’ events. “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank the people behind sport, without these people sport would not happen” said Natasha Sandoe, Club Development Officer.

“Anyone can make a nomination, with no limit on the number of nominations that can be made by an organisation or an individual, although clubs or individuals must be based in Cornwall”.

Please make sure your nomination refers to the criteria set out for each award.

The event is being held with support from Devon & Cornwall Media group, Truro College, Tony Pryce Sports, Miller Countrywide, Cornwall Centre for Volunteers and Tregenna Castle.
