Get back into netball!

Today, one million women play netball in the UK every week.  If you haven’t played netball since you were at school, maybe you should have another look at the game – it has something for everyone whatever their level of fitness.

The Cornwall Netball Development Officer, Natasha Howard, has organised a five week program to encourage ladies from 18 – 60 years to come back to the game.  The sessions will be fun and sociable and will be a chance to meet new people and to receive relaxed coaching by qualified coaches.

The sessions will run from 7pm to 9pm, from Tuesday June 2, and will be held at Truro College in the Lynher building.  The cost is £3 per session with a £10 joining fee, to cover insurance and registration.

“This is the second year we’ll have run these sessions as last year proved a huge success. We had ladies of all ages attend and, although there was a lot of fun and laughter each week, we saw an incredible improvement in their play by the end of the five weeks.

“I was delighted to find out those that attended last year carried on playing, and some joined local clubs. Most of the ladies hadn’t played netball since school and said these sessions offered the perfect chance to give it another go, in a sociable and non-competitive environment. So, if there’s anyone who fancies getting back into netball but is a little hesitant, these sessions will be the ideal taster!”

The sessions will include basic skills, some fitness and competitive play.  Participants simply need to wear comfortable clothing and trainers, as all other equipment will be provided.   If you are interested in attending, please register first, using the details below.
