National Governing Bodies of Sport visit Brannel School

NGB representatives visit Brannel School

National Governing Body of Sport (NGBs) representatives visited Brannel School on the 23 March to hear about proposals for the £16m rebuild of the school, which is set for completion in July 2011.

This was the second such visit and was an opportunity for NGB representatives to understand the ambition for the new school, and to identify areas in which their sport may be able to contribute.

The importance of involving a wide range of sports at an early stage has been welcomed by all involved. To date, the following sports have engaged with the school and design team; football, rugby, cricket, fencing, tennis, netball, athletics, paddlesports, table tennis, bowls and orienteering.

If other governing bodies are interested in exploring the potential of the scheme for their sport they should contact Mike Thomas in the first instance at mithomas@cornwall.gov.uk.
