More spaces for Cornwall's first sports conference

Cornwall's first Club & Coach Conference - 26 April

The booking deadline for Cornwall’s first sports conference has recently been extended to April 10, to ensure that volunteers and professionals in sport have a greater opportunity to attend.

Organised by the Cornwall Sports Partnership, the conference will take place on Sunday April 26 at Truro College from 9.30am to 4.30pm. As the first event of its kind, and with an exciting line-up of informative and innovative workshops on offer, it’s all set to be a huge hit with the sporting community.

Conference organiser, Natasha Howard from the Cornwall Sports Partnership, explains: “We’ve recently been allocated more capacity for the event which means we can offer spaces to more people – so, we’re extending the booking deadline to ensure that nobody misses out.

“We’ve designed the conference specifically to help those working and volunteering in sport to take a new approach to excellence in club and coach development, which is an important step forward for Cornish sport.”

Opening the event as key note speaker will be leading mind coach, Dr Karl Morris. With clients including Red Bull and Volvo, and golfers Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood and Paul McGinley, he will be discussing his cutting edge methods of goal achievement and providing a range of practical and applicable tools for performance breakthrough.

Together with an interactive Market Place, a variety of workshops will be taking place throughout the day, led by a number of inspirational speakers sharing their experience, tips and insight.

During the workshops, club volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how to maximise their membership and success, and discover where to obtain on-hand practical advice and help. And for coaches, an assortment of ground-breaking techniques and practical tips will be revealed.

Booking on to the event costs £20, which includes lunch and refreshments, and can be processed through the Cornwall Sports Partnership website. The new deadline for bookings is Friday April 10.  For further details and to book, go to: www.cornwallsportspartnership.co.uk .
