National Governing Bodies of Sport
Our core offer with Sport England is to support their 46 invested National Governing Bodies of Sport to deliver their Grow, Sustain and Excel targets
We are therefore in place to help NGBs make sure they are getting the support the need, help focus where and what they want to develop and ultimately get more people participating in sport within Cornwall.

How were Sport England's invested NGBs selected?
The main criteria were:
- An London 2012 Olympic or Paralympic sport, or
- Already designated as a development sport by Sport England, or
- More than 75,000 people in England participating in that sport (as indicated by the Active People Survey)
Other recognised sports may also receive funding for specific projects through Sport England's other funding streams such as themed rounds, small grants scheme or the Innovation Fund.
Sport England is also continuing to work with the Central Council of Physical Recreation to support some smaller sports.
