Non-Governing Body Consultation for the Licensing and Registration of Coaches
Sports Coach UK is asking Non-Governing Body organisations that employ and deploy coaches to complete an online consultation regarding licensing and registration.
The consultation is critical to the work of a Licensing and Registration Task and Finish Group and their understanding of the requirements of other coach ‘employers’ and ‘deployers’.
We would value your input via the online survey that has been created:
The survey link is: http://www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=127669229571
The survey closes on 9 July 2010. The results will be collated and reviewed by the Task Group, before producing final recommendations to sports coach UK’s Coaching Committee. However, ultimately the sports coaching industry must itself decide if mandatory coach licensing is an issue in which it believes central Government should consider and legislate.
An online consultation exercise regarding the ‘licensing’ landscape across sports has been completed with Governing Bodies of Sport.
Sports Coach UK established a Task and Finish group (February 2010) to make recommendations on the implementation of Coach Registration & Licensing by September 2010. Through this group it was quickly identified that any Registration & Licensing Scheme for sports coaching should initially focus upon coach development.
A vision for Registration & Licensing was established, incorporating seven key principles which will be used to guide future discussions.
