Coaches

The Cornwall Sports Partnership has recently appointed a Coaching Development Manager; the post is funded by Sport England through Sports Coach UK and is one of 49 based nationally in every County Sports Partnership.

The role of the Coaching Development Manager in Cornwall is to achieve four main aims:

  • Increase the number of coaches
  • Increase the skills of coaches
  • Increase the employment & deployment opportunities within the South West
  • Develop strong partnerships with key agencies (locally and nationally)

Working with a number of partners, we ensure that not only do we have the right number of coaches to support sport in our area, but that these coaches are professionally managed, suitably qualified, sufficiently competent and appropriately rewarded.

The key factor in the success of any sports programme is having the right coach who can engage participants and use this relationship and contact time to guide the player development.

Get Coaching Cornwall will assist us in deploying the right coaches into the correct environments.
