Community Games

Community Games Cornwall

Community Games provides a wonderful and unique opportunity for you to bring your community together to take part in sporting and cultural activities inspired by, and in celebration of, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The aim of the programme is to bring communities together and to support them in organising an event for their community (which might be their street, estate, local interest group, etc, etc). Essentially, a Community Games event will be run by a community for their community!

... The great news is that anyone can organise a Cornish Community Games event, and we would love for you to be involved!

How will the Community Games programme benefit Cornwall?

Community Games is an excellent opportunity to give communities the chance to work together, celebrate together and strengthen the diverse spirit of the county.

Each Community Games will be unique and will give local people and their families the chance to experience something new and have fun.  Because the Games are an opportunity to take part in or be a part of both sporting and cultural activities, they offer something for everyone.

It offers Cornwall the opportunity to bring the spirit of the Olympics and Paralympics into the heart of its communities and to build bonds that go beyond 2012.
