Ambassadors Scheme

The Cornwall 'Ambassadors' scheme recognises and supports individuals with true sporting talent in Cornwall who are working towards the highest levels of success in their chosen sport.

Increased recognition and profile in the community as a County Ambassador.

Eligibility

Individuals can apply for a Cornwall Ambassadors Card if:

You are achieving consistent results at South West Levels or above.
You are ranked in the top 10 in Great Britain in your sport.
You reside in Cornwall or have a home address in Cornwall.
You are above 12 years of age.
You can supply written evidence of your achievement from your governing body of sport.
You are in receipt of Sport England "World Class" "World Class Potential" "World Class Start" support.
You are involved in the DCMS or TASS scheme.
You are eligible to receive grant aid from Sport Aid South West.
       

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by an Ambassadors selection panel consisting of sport development and district Ambassadors link officers, including representatives from the Cornwall Sports Partnership, who will meet on five pre-determined dates each year

Applications will be considered by the selection panel in February, May, July, October and December. The panels decision is final but re-applications will be accepted.

Conditions

All Ambassador Cardholders may be required to attend promotional events for a maximum of three occasions per annum, if requested.  Cardholders will be expected to act in a manner that will reflect positively on the image of the county and mention the county favourably during media opportunities.
