SportsAid SW Regional Officer
Salary: £15,000 pa
Location: Bristol
Type of contract: Initially 1 year fixed term
SportsAid South West is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic officer to help the charity fundraise and make grants to talented young athletes in the South West region.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Initiate and develop fundraising opportunities throughout the South-West
- Maintain close working relationships with Local Authorities and County Sport Partnerships
- Harness the opportunities available through working closely with the Regional and Local business communities
In order to deliver these key objectives, the successful candidate will:
- Report to the National charity’s Finance & Operations Manager, whilst maintaining a close working relationships with the Chair, Trustees and Governors of SportsAid South West
- Develop a fundraising strategy appropriate and realistic for the region
- Establish and maintain close communication links with all potential funding partners and with sport Governing Bodies within the region
- Create and establish new events that can both raise funds and awareness of the charity’s work
- Manage PR opportunities through website updates, appropriate newsletters and the provision of relevant statistical information to substantiate requests for support
- Where appropriate, manage athlete partnerships with regional donors
The ideal candidate will be:
- A committed, results driven self motivator
- A natural communicator, both verbally and with the written word
- Experienced at pitching for funding or sponsorship
- At ease operating within the wider business sector
- Experienced at working within the charitable sector (preferred but not essential)
- Comfortable with the challenge of a basic salary of £15,000 pa but with the potential to negotiate performance related payments based on results
