Club & Coach Support Officer (South West)
Location: Covering up to 3 counties in the South West
Summary: England Athletics delivers services, support and funding within the sport. Our role includes working with affiliated clubs, officials, schools, and coaches. We also provide national level competition and work on athlete development beneath world class performance level.
A vacancy has arisen for a Club and Coach Support Officer (CCSO) across the South West Region who will cover up to 3 counties. This role involves working as part of a team to provide high quality support to athletics clubs and coaches in their local area. Your role will be to effectively implement the Local Club and Coach Development Programmes to raise standards in coaching and support club structural development. The Development of the Athletics Networks programme will be a key element of the role to ensure standards in athletics are raised across the patch. You will work in partnership with regional councils, Athletics Networks, local volunteers, County Sports Partnerships and other key organisations.
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge and experience of the voluntary sports club sector, not necessarily in athletics. Good coaching knowledge or evidence of ability and willingness to acquire coaching knowledge is essential. Excellent Microsoft Office Skills is crucial, and candidates must either be educated to degree level or have evidence of continuing professional development. An understanding of performance sport is desirable, although not essential.
